• When the ends of the Candle Quencher pinches the burning wick, they squeeze the oxygen out of the wick. Oxygen is what keeps the smoke burning long after a flame is extinguished

• A wick that is not properly trimmed allows carbon to be released, causing soot to build up inside glass jars. Regular use of the Candle Quencher keeps the wick trimmed, thus preventing soot buildup.
